You Are Important
My mom loves to buy these decorated candles (the ones molded in the shape of flowers, angels, etc.). Thing is, she never use them. She just keeps on buying these kind of candles and store it at home.
I remember there was this evening when a black out occurred and for whatever reason, all our flashlights were lost. I told my mom to use the decorated candles since that’s the only candle we have; which she answered with a big ‘NO!’.
For some reason, my mother treasure these candles. I don’t know how she sees them but the way I see it, they’re just candles.
Brothers and sisters, I have good news for you. Ask me what? We are also important to God-so important that He even made us His highest creation.
Psalms 8:4-8 “What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen; Even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, And the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.”
We are important to God that He made us shaped in His own image.
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
We are important to God that He provides our needs.
Acts 14:17 “Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
Finally, we are important to God that He gave up His only son to die for our sins.
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved”
Brothers and sisters, we are very important to God-we are His children after all-but we fail to see that because we let ourselves be blinded by Satan’s deceits. We allow ourselves to be eaten by problems, bitterness, and failures. And because of this, we forget how the Lord sees us and we start to see ourselves the way Satan wants us to-as mere humans.
Brothers and sisters, let us pray and offer God all the negative things happening to us. Let us ask for God’s protection against Satan’s deceits. Let us be reminded that nothing is bigger than our Lord-that we have a big God. Let us do all these thing and start seeing ourselves in God’s eyes.
Because of love the Lord sees as us treasure. Let us then not question God and just learn to see ourselves the same way God sees us.
Say these with me:
I will start to see myself the same way God sees me.
I am a child of God!
I am important!
I am a treasure!
I pray for you all
